I have worked as mentor to a Mayor in Finland, and as a facilitator in a plant in Russia, I have mediated C-level disputes and counselled victims of crime. I have worked on inner city streets with disaffected youth, I have built schools, hospitals and out of town shopping malls. I have mentored a hospital professor and advised international banks. I have worked as a carpenter alongside bricklayers, led teams of city lawyers and stirred psychologists to action. I have lived on the dole, and I have worked from a corner office looking out over London's Hyde Park.
But by far the most worthwhile thing I have ever been was the support for my wife Tarja in her three year battle with cancer. And by far the best thing I have ever done has been to be the stepfather and guardian to her two teenage daughters when we lost.
I am now a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, an Associate of the Coaching Academy, and sponsored as an Affiliate of the British Psychological Society.
